Entry for April 26, 2006
Ok well we have been busy, Dillon is still getting over his whole strep and the bad allergic reaction from the amoxicillian. We ended up taking Dillon to the Dr again because he was in so much pain from his joints and unless we had him on motrin he could barely walk. Anyway we found out that Dillon has post-strep reactive arthritis, basiclly the strep moves into the joints, the weird thing is that it normally happens if the strep goes to long without being treated but we put Dillon on antibiotics right away but we were just lucky to get the whole everything with this round of sickness.
Caitlin on the other hand is stll trying to pop out her two bottom teeth, they are so close they are right on the tippy of her gums you can see them barely poking through, so she has beena little cranky and wanting to be held literly all day. She is getting so big. She is almost out of her newborn diapers. Almost to the next stage!!!!!Well thats about it, not to much to report right now.
Here is the explanation of the post strep reactive athritis, it should go away soon.-------
Post-streptococcal reactive arthritis is an extremely rare form of arthritis. It is caused by a bad strep infection, normally one that goes untreated. It creates the basic symptom of arthritis- swollen, painful joints. The pain typically migrates from one joint to another at random. This type of arthritis is also extremely resistant to medication, so it is very hard for doctors to reduce a patient's level of pain. Doctors assume that this type of arthritis will go away, since it starts in reaction to a strep infection, but there haven't been enough reported cases yet for them to be sure.
